Areas of Expertise

Michael is head of the firm's employment team. He qualified in 1974 and has been with the firm since then. He has vast experience of advising clients on all aspects of employment law. For many years, he has advised charities, healthcare providers both in the public and private sectors, commercial clients and senior executives.

He has considerable experience in High Court litigation as well as Tribunal and EAT work, TUPE and the enforcement of restrictive covenants and confidentiality obligations. As well as conducting contentious work, including dismissal and discrimination claims and negotiating severance terms, he advises clients on contracts, policies and procedures including health and safety issues.

Michael is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and able to advise on all aspects of dispute resolution including mediation. He is also Registrar of the Supreme Court and the Court of Appeal of the British Indian Ocean Territories, and Deputy Registrar of the Court of Appeal of the Falkland Islands.
