UK Visas and Immigration introduce a change to settlement visa application process in Russia
Applicants will attend the appointment only with their passport and the application form. All supporting documents must be sent by the applicant to UK Visas and Immigration in the UK.
Entry Clearance Officers will send passports to the UK where they will remain throughout the consideration. However, ‘keep my passport when applying’ service is available for applicants who want to keep their passport throughout the application process.
For applicants who opt for the 15 working day Priority Visa Service, the passport will remain at the British Embassy in Moscow.
UK Visas and Immigration will continue to process visa applications in line with its current standard. The new procedure will not delay the decision making.
Applicants must make photocopies of all valuable documents (e.g. marriage certificate, birth certificate, photographs) to receive the originals back.
