LPS Training invitation
Much has been written about the Liberty Protection Safeguards which are to replace the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards in the terms set out in the new Mental Capacity legislation. Many individuals and special interest groups have raised objections to the proposals including members of the House of Lords. However, the government have undertaken to provide a statutory Code of Practice and Case Studies clarifying the meaning of deprivation of liberty to enable the legislation to be enacted.
The Code of Practice is awaited but it is anticipated that once this has been finalised, a date will be set to bring the legislation into force.
Training will be required for those who will need to operate the new legislation. Training sessions will be available from RadcliffesLeBrasseur both at our office and at individual units. Demand for this is likely to be high and if you would like to register your interest in one or other, please email our events team stating your preference of venue: firstname.lastname@example.org.
