Charity trustees are the people appointed under the charity’s governing document who are responsible for the management and administration of the charity.
They may be the trustees of a charity set up by way of a trust deed, the directors of a charity set up by way of a company or other persons who have control and management of the charity.
The trustees of charities are frequently volunteers, acting in a lay capacity, and therefore it is essential that they are aware of their duties.
If you are an existing charity and looking to appoint new trustees or you are setting up a new charity, we can:
- Advise on how trustees should be appointed
- Provide guidance on their duties and responsibilities
- Assist you with the compliance requirements of the Charity Commission and other regulatory bodies
If problems arise, we can provide you with advice and support. We also provide training for trustees.
