SRA & SDT appeals

Solicitors appeals lie to the Administrative Court. The court has jurisdiction to hear appeals from the Solicitors Disciplinary Tribunal (SDT) and appeals from some Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) decisions.

We have been involved in a number of successful appeals, including a number which have been settled by consent.

We acted in a landmark case on interventions – the first known successful challenge to an intervention (at first instance). We acted for the solicitors in Bryant and Bench v Solicitors Regulation Authority, the leading authority on the admission of character evidence in cases of dishonesty.

In the context of appeals, it is often important to act very swiftly as time limits are short.
